Engine's Child VS. Go-Go Girls of the Apocalypse

Rules:

Each match-up will have its own dedicated thread. Voting is simple. All you have to do is:

1) name your pick
2) tell us why
3) defend your choice to the death if need be. (Poke them with the soft cushions if you have to, just make sure that all the stuffing is in the point.)

You only get one vote but can continue to post on the thread to debate your selection or convince someone to change their mind.

If you want to change your mind please feel free, just make sure your post is clear.

Please keep in mind the newly implemented point system. The rules as stated above consist of two parts; naming and why. If you simply name your choice it will be worth 1 point; if you give the why then it will be worth an additional point. This additional point will be granted at the discretion of Bookspot Central.

Voting for this match will end around 8:00 PM EST on 4/6

Go-Go Girls of the Apocalypse

It bears repeating: naked women are always a good idea. And in "Go-Go Girls of the Apocalypse" the magic of naked women can save the world.

You want the world to be saved, don't you?

A vote for Go-GO Girls of the Apocalypse.

I've got a darn good reason for voting for Gischler's book. I've followed him through every round of the tourney so far. I aint gonna bail on him now.

Plus, my OU Sooners were knocked out of the NCAA tourney so I've got to have SOMEBODY to root for. But good news! The Lady Sooners and the Go-Go Girls are still kicking.

And finally, all this talk of Go-Go Girls the last week got me wanting more so I picked it up and just finished my reread of it last night.

GO GO GIRLS. It's got the infamous Jack Daniels "After the Fall" label going for it. Brilliant.

I vote Go-Go. I've always hated Atlanta and depictions of its destruction please me. Also: eco-friendly death race!

Trinuviel's previous arguments have prompted me to vote for The Engine's Child.

Go Go Girls because of the Green Armada. And also the bad guy who looks like a bear.

Give me Go Go

Never a dull moment. Gischler has a habit of building stories that hit the ground running and keep the pages turning until you're staring at the back cover, happy for the experience but wishing it would keep on going. Go Go Girls delivers on multiple levels. It's like frosted mini-wheats. Violence, guns, booze, and girls for the kid in me. Social satire/commentary for the grown up who feels the need to justify the afore mentioned. If you haven't read it, stop denying yourself the pleasure. If you have read it, read it again.

I'm sticking with Go-Go Girls. Because it's funny as hell. And because I'm hoping someone will turn Joey Armageddon's Sassy A Go Go into a reality.

Let's stick with Go-Go Girls. It's been optioned for the movies and we can only hope that it doesn't die in development.
