The poll will be up later today and you can all get your vote on! Here is the thread for any discussion related to the awards for this year and the voting.

Is there a poll for the short stories or just links? I didn't see a place to vote for a short story.

OKay found it. I have trouble with those black backgrounds. I tend to not be able to see the obvious things (or not) like a scroll bar. :smtumhat

Pretty ambivalent about the choices this year. Haven't gone through all of them, but they seem mostly from small publishers and mostly noir, so I wasn't too enticed. I have read three of the legends (authors not the exact books.)

I only voted for covers, legend and graphic novel myself.

I voted on covers and hopefully get a chance to vote on the short stories after I read them as well. Damn thats a nice looking polling system they have for the awards.

That is a nice polling system.

And the best thing is that only Brian and I can moderate this forum.

Hey, just wanted to chime in and say we appreciate the nomination for graphic novel!

One of our consistent goals with HAWAIIAN DICK is to get the book into the hands of more "general" readers, who might not be inclined to spend every Wednesday at the comic book shop.

Here's general information on the book, with examples from the first two series (both of which are available in individual trade paperbacks):

And here's a very nice review from Blogcritics.org:

Again, thanks much for the consideration, Spintinglers.

Actually any kind of paragraph or short description would behoove any of the books/graphics, etc that are in the running. I know I started to look into a couple of the books, but it was just too much trouble for me to go look them all up on Amazon to even get an idea. I'm sure a few have been reviewed here? that might make nice links.

That is one odd cover looking thing. :smtumhat

Voted, hope it got counted because I was a little confused by the U.I. that had me going back after each vote.

Please tell me this is not Florida 2000 again.

If this is Florida, why's it too cold for shorts?

(Nah, you'll be fine. One vote per category per IP address - hence going back after voting. Otherwise, people would have to cast all 10 votes at the same time, or be locked out, so they're run as separate polls.)

Another goal is to cook up some of the most unique looking covers and graphics on the stands.

Not to hog up this here thread, but here are a couple of my favorite Dick illos by Steven Griffin:

Like Clay, Joe Staton and I are honored to have been nominated in the Graphic Novel category with our Femme Noir: The Dark City Diaries series, especially considering the competition. We've been working on the book since 2000, and we're pleased that people think well of our efforts.

Thanks.

The collected volume will be on sale in May.
