The X-Men, Iron-Man, Wolverine, and Blade are headed to the G4 network. The four fabulous comic book adaptations were authored by none other than Warren Ellis. The Anime style cartoons will premiere on G4 in 2011 and will air as standalone series made up of twelve 30-minute episodes each. What Marvel fan isn’t up for an animated mini-series for each of those heroes (and hero team)? The news struck (where else) at Comic Con where Ellis himself, according to Collider.com, got the word that his projects, created for Madhouse in Japan will also be released in the U.S. He said, “As I say, these were commissioned and created specifically for the south east Asian market. But it’s nice that they’ll get some form of English-language airing too.”

The official press release offered insight into each series storyline. “Iron Man” will see Tony Stark traveling to Japan to build a new arc reactor to provide unlimited free energy to the Japanese people, Stark is challenged by the Japanese government when he is repeatedly attacked by the mysterious Zodiac consortium. In “X-MEN” the team is summoned by Professor Xavier, also to Japan, after Hisako Ichiki aks Armor is abducted. There, they confront the U-MEN, a fanatical cult. The “Wolverine” series is based upon the Frank Miller graphic novel where Logan is challenged by Shingen Yashida. Finally, “Blade” will also hit Japan to hunt Deacon Frost, the vampire lord who killed his mother. Warren Ellis is also the mastermind behind Red, for which we offer this exciting trailer, starring Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, and Mary-Louise Parker.
