Warner Bros has delivered a stunning clip and featurette of upcoming release, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole. Zack Snyder directs this epic animated film, which follows the fantasy adventure of a pack of beautiful owls. Snyder has also directed such projects as 300 and Watchmen. That’s Snyder’s wife Debbie Snyder helping describe the film in the featurette. She’s the film’s producer. Guardians is based on the first three books in author Kathryn Lasky’s best selling young adult fantasy series Guardians of Ga’Hoole.

Yes, those are Australian accents you hear in the film sequences. Voice actors include Australians; Hugo Weaving (V for Vendetta), Emilie de Ravin (Remember Me), Rachel Taylor (Transformers) and David Wenham (Lord of the Rings), as well as Brits; Jim Sturgess (Across the Universe), Geoffrey Rush, and Helen Mirren. There’s a couple of kiwis, too; (New Zealanders) Jay Laga’aia (Star Wars Episode II) and Sam Neill (Jurassic Park). In fact production took place in Australia at visual effects company Animal Logic.

When I went to see Clash of the Titans this year in 3D, the movie was a disastrous let down for me. The highest point during that experience was watching the Guardians trailer with my 3D glasses on. I’m psyched about this one. I was in wide mouthed awe. Could it be this year’s Lord of the Rings? We’ll find out September 24th when the film is released in 2D, Real-D 3D, and IMAX 3D.

Over at BSCKids we spotlighted a First Look at Guardians. Go take a look! We also brought you the first Guardians trailer, which we’ve reposted below the new featurette for you.
