Violence in Video Games, Pros and Cons
Gaming | B.T. Robertson | March 10, 2010 at 11:30 amI found an interesting website this morning while cruising for information regarding this deep-running debate. The site discusses the pros and cons of video game violence research and how it affects children. I have kids…they won’t be playing games outside their age range. But what do you think? Does the blame rest squarely on the shoulders of parents to educate and protect their children from video game violence, or are some children predisposed to violence regardless of what parents do (after all, even the most successful parents can have dysfunctional kids)? What about the game companies? Do they have a right to put whatever they want in their games under the guise of an ESRB rating banner, or does there need to be some more regulation about what type of content goes “too far”?
