Quantic Dream, Heavy Rain Getting Patch (PS3)

Heavy Rain’s official forum thread titled “Heavy Rain issues under investigation” received an update on Tuesday, March 16th. A patch is coming, but will it fix all the bugs?

All your patch are belong to me!

According to the update posted by “Sam_Protagonist” – noted also as a “DEV” – the patch has been completed and addresses minor issues that could be “contributing factors”. But, apparently the issues have been difficult to reproduce at Quantic Dream, so this patch isn’t even guaranteed to fix the specific problems users are talking about.

Given the small percentage of players affected by these issues and the difficulty that has been had in reproducing them here we’re optimistic that this patch resolves your problems but cannot guarantee that this will be the case.

If you read my full review of Heavy Rain, you’ll notice that I don’t even talk about any bugs or even minor glitches because I didn’t experience a single one during my first play-through. I did, however, experience a single instance of the game freezing during my quest for Platinum. I’m not sure what contributed to the issue except that I was frequently loading chapters and quitting back to the title screen after I finished them. Either way, we’re getting a patch, but don’t count on it fixing the issues you’re reporting out there.

No availability date for the patch has been announced as of this writing.
