A trailer for the second season of Showtime’s United States of Tara is now out prepping us for the the return of the show that has had a very successful award season for its first season, behind the strength of the Toni Collette performance of the titular character. The actress took home the Emmy, Golden Globe, and was nominated for the SAG. United States of Tara returns on Monday, March 22nd at 10:30PM ET/PT, and below we have an about two-minute preview the season.
We don’t get a lot of Showtime shows here (I think just Dexter, and that a season behind), so I haven’t seen this show, but definitely looks interesting, and I love Collette (Japanese Story, The Hours, Little Miss Sunshine–just the tip of the iceberg!). Maybe a future DVD purchase.
Along with Collette, the show stars John Corbett, Brie Larson, Keir Gilchrist and Rosemarie DeWitt in a shows that deals with the life of Tara, who suffers from disassociative identity disorder. The show comes to us from Diablo Cody (with Spielberg listed as the Executive producer), who recently penned the Amanda Seyfried (who BTW was awesome on Fallon the other night) and Megan Fox starring Jennifer’s Body, and of course penned the multiple academy award winning Juno.
You can check out Showtime’s official site for the show for more info.
