Desperate Housewives – “The Glamorous Life” – Review

Another week in Fairview and some fairly tame  story lines developed which, my guess, will lead to some rather big reveals later in the season.

Gaby: Oh, of course you would try and bribe Anna to not have sex by writing her a check, because she is so your niece, ha ha. However, I knew that plan would definitely backfire since Anna is, um, what do you call it…a slut! Or in nicer terms, a very horny and conniving teenage girl. However, I couldn’t believe that Carlos straight out attacked Danny when he caught him on top of Anna; I thought we were past the aggression phase Carlos, come on now. The biggest twist on Gaby’s end was the fact that she and Carlos overheard Angie and Nick fighting, and the word “secret” was pretty much used.

Lynette: I am so on her side when it comes to therapy, and I was so glad when Tom finally saw the light that the therapist was a little eh and that he likes Lynette being the “bad cop” and the firm one. I seriously just heart Lynette, and I was glad for once she had a storyline that wasn’t all about being pregnant or her job.

Bree: You love him, you don’t love him, you can’t love him, you want to love him. Although Orson is bugging the crap out of me lately, I don’t want him to commit suicide, mainly because we’d have to start calling Bree the black widow (I mean first Rex, then creepy pharmacist then Karl, oy!). However, there is some hope for them, because they actually kissed sincerely at the end of the episode, and it was sort of precious–sort of.

Katherine: Still in the pysch ward, I guess? Rumor has it when she comes out she’ll be making a big announcement, whenever that is.

Susan: Aw, she’s a mentor to an ex-stripper, isn’t that cute? Not only does Susan get her a job (that she eventually has to leave), but she also makes her MJ’s babysitter. Um, a little weird, seeing as how she was freaking out over Mike going to the strip club and now she brings the strip club home to him, ha ha.

Angie: Apparently Angie’s been sipping on some of the crazy juice that sent Katherine to the hospital. I mean, really; first she doesn’t care about Danny and Anna (after getting all persnickety about Anna last week), then she bursts into Gaby and Carlos’s house to stop Carlos from attacking Danny, then she goes after the non-environmentally friendly neighbor. This in itself is a big development, because it finally gives us a little more insight to Angie’s past and that they were some sort of environmentalist guerillas? terrorists? tree huggers? I was sort of hoping for some mafia connection, but I guess that would be too predictable; this is just as good and maybe even better.

So what do we have to look forward to now? Orson not killing himself, Katherine coming back eventually, Susan living with an ex-stripper and the Bolen family secret finally being revealed? I just hope it’s good.
