True Blood is like Heroes was in its off season, seemingly signing up a new actors/actress every other day! Now, Dawn Oliveri joins new additions to the cast the upcoming third season of HBO’s True Blood that already include Lindsay Pulsipher, Joe Manganiello, Cooper Huckabee, Alfre Woodward, James Frain, J. Smith-Cameron, Theo Alexander, Shannon Lucio, Kevin Alejandro, Marshall Allman and Denis O’Hare. According to TV Guide, Olivieri, who actually was in Heroes (as the Painted Lady,) is set to take on the role of Janice Herveaux, a werewolf.
Herveaux is the sister of Alcide (played by the newly cast Joe Manganiello) and is set to appear in the season’s fourth episode, titled “9 Crimes”. As an aside, Olivieri auditioned for the role of Debbie Pelt, as role that is as of yet not filled (or at least announced). Herveaux is described in the report as a tough-as-nails biker chick who’s somewhat protective of her younger brother. She is also into horoscopes and psychics. Including Heroes, Olivieri has appeared in episodes of Cold Case, Stargate: Atlantis, Veronica Mars, CSI, and multiple appearances in How I Met Your Mother.
True Blood returns for its third season this Summer in June.
