The Mentalist gets Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis will be joining The Mentalist in a recurring role sometime in April. Once I saw this news I could not place her, but then realized that I had just seen her over the holiday break when I watched Notorious for the first time. She has also played in three episodes of True Blood and many other shows. Ellis will be playing the new head of the CBI after Virgil Minelli (Gregory Itzin) resigns, which is good news for 24 fans as he will be reprising his role as former President Charles Logan.
I will not spoil it for you, but it seems there will be some murders and Ellis’ character will be brought in to restore order and morale after said murders. I am most looking forward to the interaction of Ellis’ character and Patrick Jane (Simon Baker). The Mentalist is one of those shows that I might not catch every week, but when I do decide to watch it I end up enjoying myself. Simon Baker does such a great job with his character and the interaction between Grace Van Pelt, Wayne Rigsby, and Kimball Cho really make this show something to watch.

I love Jane, Lisbon, Rigsby, Van Pelt, and Cho. I hope she doesn’t mess up their dynamic.
