SyFy – Haven for Stephen King’s Colorado Kid

Back in September we brought word that Haven, the adaptation of Stephen King’s The Colorado Kid was in production by E1, and now according to Variety, it has been picked up by SyFy for U.S. distribution.

“Haven” centers on a spooky town in Maine where cursed folk live normal lives in exile. When those curses start returning, FBI agent Audrey Parker is brought in to keep those supernatural forces at bay — while trying to unravel the mysteries of Haven.

Adaptations of King’s work (and there are a ton of them) generally end up on the extreme ends of hit or miss for me (same could be said about SyFy actually), so I’ll be waiting for cast announcements to get a better feel.

As we noted earlier, the producers behind Haven were also executive producers on another King property on TV, The Dead Zone, and the show is still a 13-episode pick-up. The Colorado Kid was published in 2005

What does Haven have to do with Colorado Kid? I am perplexed.
