Katie Holmes replaces Liv Tyler – The Romantics
Movies, News | Jay Tomio | November 2, 2009 at 4:01 amAnna Paquin, Josh Duhamel, Malin Akerman, Elijah Wood, Adam Brody and Jeremy Strong will now be joined by Katie Holmes, not Liv Tyler, according to Variety.
She not only replaces Tyler in the lead, but apparently is the executive producer as well. The Romantics is directed and adapted by the novelist who wrote the book, Galt Niederhoffer. The synopsis (of the film) offered by Variety is:
….revolves around eight friends from college who reunite for a wedding. Holmes, fresh off her role in Miramax’s “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” will play Laura, the maid of honor to Anna Paquin’s Lila, the bride. Laura and Lila are best friends who both have a past with the groom (Duhamel).
The last time I saw Holmes (actually working) was in Thank You for Smoking, a film that I rather enjoyed. Though adaptation haters may not have enjoyed how the role was applied, Liv pulled of one damn fine Arwen in my mind. Check out the novel below.
