Ian Somerhalder to star in Cradlewood

Ian Somerhalder who stars in The Vampire Diaries at CW, has been signed on to Cradlewood, a romantic gothic fairy tale. It was described by Michel Shane (producer) as a sort of “American-style Pan’s Labyrinth.”

Somerhalder will play the heir to a huge fortune. The story itself is told around an Australian woman (Emma Lung) living in Boston with Somerhalder’s character. The twist is that his family history has a legend that whenever a boy is born into the family, the father is killed by a demon. Somerhalder’s character suspects that his girlfriend is pregnant and all sorts of crazy things happen.

I always liked Ian from Lost and hopefully he can get on the movie map with this role.
