David Letterman Extortion clip

News, Television | Jay Tomio | October 2, 2009 at 5:08 am

I saw this over at Gawker, and I at first I thought it was a joke/skit (and it kind of is, but about a serious manner), but its an apparent public admission of having sex with his staff and an attempt at a $2 million extortion by (who the AP cites) Robert J. Halderman.

There’s more at Newsday. Apparently Halderman is a 48 Hours producer, and an Emmy nominated one.

I have watched my last David Letterman show. His admissions last night showed the whole world what a callous, egotistical PIG he really is. This guy is a real CREEP! If I were his wife, I’d be worried that he may molest their own child and then make jokes about it on TV. There was nothing normal about his admissions or the way he presented it last night. It was all very, very creepy, to say the least. He should be taken off the air.

How pathetic and callous! He should have just apologized to the audience and the women instead of making jokes and looking like the real foolish pig he is! I will never watch the show again!!!!!! He needs to be taken off the air.

Bill… i think that is stupid.him having sex with woman does not mean that he would go and molest his own child i think you are sick for even trying to tie that into this.
I’m not saying that I approve or am okay with this because i’m not. But i’m also not surprised i have been watching the letterman show for well over 10 years and famous people tend to do stuff like this go figure. anyway you are an idiot “yeah because he’s had sex with woman he is going to go and molest his own child.” RIGHT!!! thats sarcastic if you are wondering.
It’s people like you, you are that typical person. How obnoxious.

I have a feeling he wasn’t really intending on making it a joke but the audience just laughs cuz they assume what he is going to say is supposed to be funny. I think he had to do that so they were actually laughing at his serious statments. I can’t imagine ever admitting to something like that and it being easy.

also i can tell you right now he won’t be taken off the air. It’s his personal business and i think a lot of normal people unlike some people ^ keep their nose out of it. He had to tell people he is famous but we don’t need to keep talking about it. It’s whatever and people enjoy his show. He will be on air until he decides to be done
