A quartet of good things going on here when we are talking Cormac McCarthy, Tommy Lee Jones, Samuel L. Jackson and HBO. The latter is set to have Jones and Jackson star in a feature adapted from a play by the Pulitzer Award winner, McCarthy.

According to Variety, McCarthy himself adapted The Sunset Limited into a script that will start production in September. At McCarthy’s site you can check out what looks to be a pretty revealing write-up on the play. Jones will also be the executive producer and director of the project, and is not unfamiliar with McCarthy’s work, having been in the adaptation of No Country for Old Men, the 2007 film by the Coen Brothers that won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Film Synopsis:

a man who saves another man from throwing himself in front of a Harlem subway train. The act begins an exchange of ideologies as the two men from different backgrounds debate the worth of their lives.

I rather enjoyed Rules of Engagement (tell me you weren’t feeling Sammy’s salute at the end), and I like everything involved above, so I’ll be looking forward to this.
