WillRiseUp

This week on True Blood, Sookie, Bill, Eric and Jason deal with the aftermath of the suicide bomber that attacked the Texas vampire nest. Sookie is tricked by Eric to suck out the silver bullets he received during the bomb explosion from his chest, while doing so she consumes some his blood. This act links the two much like the bond she shares with Bill. Later that evening Bill explains to Sookie, that she may feel sexually attracted to Eric and that his actions of deception will not be forgiven. Bill eventually confronts Eric and punches him in the face but takes no further action against his sheriff.

It is revealed during a vampire council that Godric willingly offered himself to the Fellowship of the Sun, thinking that it would stop the growing vampire\human hostilities. Yet we also learn that Godric is weary of his existence and perhaps he was looking to cover up the fact that he really wanted just to die. Godric gets his wish despite Eric’s pleading and Sookie stays with Godric as he willingly and joyfully meets the sun.

Back in Bon Temps, Jessica and Hoyt meet his mother in an attempt to gain acceptance for their blooming love. Hoyt’s mother is not willing to accept Jessica and insults her to the point where her son and his vampire girlfriend leave in disgust of her behavior. Meanwhile, Maryann continues her hunt for Sam Merlotte, “her sacrifice”, and uses her godlike power to set the whole town on the hunt for Sam. Lafayette and Tara’s mother arrive at Sookie’s house and forcibly remove the possessed Tara in an attempt to save her from Maryann and Eggs. Sam who uses his shape changing ability to become a fly escapes his jail cell and spies on Maryann.  He later shows up naked at Andy Bellefleur’s motel room seeking his help.

True Blood’s plot duality is drawing to a close as Sookie, Bill, Eric and Jason get ready to head back to Bon Temps. Unknown to the group Maryann has turned the whole town upside down and is on a rampage looking for Sam. I am beginning to wonder if they will have what it takes to bring Maryann down. I will say this episode for me was a bit dull when compared to the series of intense episodes we have seen lately. Godric’s death scene was depressing and also disappointing because he seemed like a very wise and interesting character. I really wish we could have seen more about Eric and Godric’s relationship which spanned centuries. The big news this episode was the hot steamy sex scene between Sookie and Eric, we learn however that it was just a dream that Sookie has while sleeping with Bill at her side. I am sure with only three episodes left in the season we can expect that this episode was only the calm before a big storm which will be blowing through the streets of Bon Temp. Rumors are buzzing in previews and on the Internet that a vampire Queen will be contacted for help in getting rid of Maryann. Who is this mysterious vampire and why would she help the humans of Bon Temp?  The world of True Blood continues to open before our eyes and it is full of mystery and excitement. I am very pleased with season two thus far and look forward to its explosive ending.
