Christina Hendricks joins Heigl & Duhamel in Life as We Know It

On some level, BSC is about tracking the careers of players from my favorite shows that ended too soon, and we have another one here in the I must say hella photogenic Christina Hendricks, who Firefly Fans will remember as Malcom Reynold’s ‘wife’ Yolanda, Saffron, Bridget–badass we need to see on-screen more. You’ve probably also seen her in AMC’s  Madmen (as Joan Holloway).

Hendricks is set to play the ‘best’ friend of Duhamel and Heigl in a movie (and l Iove Heigl as well) that–to be completely honest– sounds completely boring. Via Variety:

follows two unattached adults whose worlds are turned upside down when their mutual best friends die in an accident and name them as caregivers of their orphaned daughter

I like to see Hendricks in anything, and honestly always wondered why we didn’t see more of her in larger roles, but this is actually pushing it. Still, I hope she performs to the level she usually does and attracts even  more future casting announcements here at the BSC.

Give the movie a chance I think it will be pretty decent – its a drama with some comedy elements. So probably a tearjerker with a few laughs. Berlanti has a good track record – so hopefully this could be good. Katherine Heigl is amazing and Hendricks is great too. I believe Heigl is actually also producing the movie.

I agree with you about Berlanti, as I do like the heat in Eli Stone, so there is potential.

Looking it up, it is Heigl and her mother producing. I’m indifferent about Duhamel, but like Heigl and Hendricks enough to be on the lookout for word of mouth when the movie hits
