Carey Mulligan in Oliver Stone’s Wall Street 2
Movies, News | Jay Tomio | August 14, 2009 at 4:07 amYesterday, in an update to the adaptation of Brighton Rock we reported the casting of Andrea Riseborough, which would seem to officially end rumors of Carey Mulligan’s involvement with that project. Today we learn that Mulligan has joined Michael Douglas, Shia LaBeouf and Frank Langella in the Oliver Stone sequel to Wall Street (1987).

Carey Mulligan will be playing Gecko’s (Michael Douglas) daughter, and you may have seen here in Public Enemies, Pride & Prejudice, and will appear in Brothers, the U.S. remake of Susanne Bier’s Brødre (U.S. trailer here) along with Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, and Natalie Portman.
The news of this film hit around April/June but it really is one of those films that will probably be damn good, but is also pretty damn boring to talk about before it does (no chainsaws, zombies, or sweet Megan Fox virals). Like Riseborough, she will also be in the adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let me Go. It would certainly be very interesting just due to the current economic backdrop, and because it is Stone, who for me always finds a way to subvert what I think he’s going to to do–or at least the angle he chooses to stress.
