Doctorow and MacLeod Share Campbell Award; James Alan Gardner takes Sturgeon

Books, News | Jay Tomio | July 2, 2009 at 6:07 am

A bit late on this, but last month I announced the finalists for the 2008 Campbell Award. In May I also noted the finalists for the 2009 Sturgeon Award.

There has been a tie for this year’s Campbell Award as Cory Doctorow’s Little Brother and Ian R. MacLeod’s Song of Time will share the honor this year. MacLeod previously won this year’s Clarke Award for Song of Time as well. You can read Little Brother for free online.

James Alan Gardner’s The Ray Gun: A Love Story takes home the Sturgeon Award, and the story can be read here.

BSC would like to congratulate the winners! The Awards will be presented during the Campbell Conference Awards Banquet held on July 9th-12th, at the University of Kansas.
