UPDATE:

When I was pulling the information for the Best Cover category for the Spinetingler Awards, I looked where I usually do. Inside, on the copyright page. And so it was that I saw, “Designed by Leah Carlson-Stanisic” on our copy of SHARP TEETH, and attributed the cover design to her. I now see that on the back cover, in small print, it says that the cover design is by Suzanne Dean… But that’s not the end of the story.  There was actually an error with the book, and the cover design was done by Christine Van Nee.  The poll and list have been corrected.

Described as "one of crime fiction's hot new voices" by Rick Mofina, Sandra Ruttan is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Spinetingler Magazine and her short fiction has appeared in Out of the Gutter, Crimespree Magazine, Pulp Pusher, Demolition, The Cynic and Mouth Full of Bullets. She had her first newspaper column at the age of 13 and launched the Nolan, Hart and Tain series with her book, WHAT BURNS WITHIN, earlier this year. In November '08 the second book in the series, THE FRAILTY OF FLESH, will be released.
